Follow these tips for risk-free driving.

Since the advent of the pandemic, we have almost stopped using public transport. Most of us rely on personal vehicles for our daily commute. Driving is a daily process for most of us and we enjoy it most of the time, whether it is long road trips or our daily commute. With the rising spirit in all of us after long periods of lockdown, we are just getting back on track.

But the most important thing in driving is ensuring the safety of both you and your vehicle. We know how important it is and that is why new technologies are getting developed every season with a focus on safety. One of the easiest ways to acquire these techs is to lease a car.  Because with leasing you can easily upgrade cars without burning your pocket.

Most manufacturers put their cars for lease when they launch them. You can even lease a car online with the My ALD app and make sure your ride is as safe as it comes. Apart from what your car can do to be safe, there are things you can do to make each ride safe. As your mobility partner, ALD Automotive has put together a set of tips you can follow to make your rides risk-free. Given below are simple yet effective tips you can follow with ease.

Avoid all distractions

It is no secret that every skillful driver follows this. We are busy people with busy lives, but honestly, that urgent email can actually wait. Browsing for your favorite song? Just make a playlist for rides and if the DJ Shotgun is present leave it to them. When you are handling the wheel, focus on that and give your hundred percent. Avoid using phones or other devices that cause distraction. Sometimes even the bad company you got around or a bad mood can cause distraction. Stay focused because your little mistake can be a risk to you and everyone on the road.

 Give attention to the signs

Driving is not just handling, gear shifting and throttling. You must not be inattentive to the signs because they exist for a reason. Follow them. And saving a few seconds by skipping traffic signals is not worth risking your life at all. Give proper attention to the road signs and drive accordingly. If you have been inattentive, going through the road signs and rules may not be a bad idea.

Drinking and driving never mixed well

Why put your life and the lives of other people by saying "it is just one drink"? It is never a good excuse to welcome the potential dangers. The risk of a fatal accident is increased by 1700% when a person is driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The effects are immensely reduced concentration, lack of proper judgement and slow reaction time. All of these are more than enough to put everyone's life at risk. If you have had drinks, your car can wait till the morning to get picked up. Call a cab or have a designated driver in such cases. A simple measure to avoid great danger.

Know your limits

It is okay to feel tired and it is okay to take a break then. You should not test your limits on the road. Whenever you feel drowsy behind the wheel ask your companion to drive and in their absence, take a nap. You will get to wherever you are going but if you are riding when drowsy, you might face risky hurdles. Let us avoid that at all costs.

Be the bigger person

You should know that only losers engage in road rage. Losers initiate it and you should try to avoid it. What is there to be gained in a fight in the middle of a road? The answer is nothing! Own up if you are in the wrong and be the bigger person if you are in the right. There is nothing more powerful than a smile and there is nothing it can't solve, forgive and move on.

Seatbelts are not a choice

Seatbelts are not a choice. It is literally a lifesaver and you should understand driving without your seatbelt is not an option. It is the most important yet very basic safety feature of your car. Don't do it because the law demands you but because of the awareness that it is essential and it brings safety to everyone in the car. One thing to note is that you hold complete control to ensure this safety feature. It is such a simple and basic step so make it a start-up ritual.

Know your path

The key to making your life smooth is planning and the same goes for driving. Take your time and figure out the path to your destination. There should be clarity on your route, your lodging, pit stops etc. before you start your car. It will help you to make your ride safe and smooth. There won't be any need to take sudden turns and can avoid missed exits. Choosing the best routes will also give you a bonus of avoiding rush-hour traffic.

Don't miss the safety check

Before you start your journey, make sure you have completed a safety check. Ensure the brakes, wipers, tyres, lights etc. are in good condition and working. This will reveal what needs repair, and what is missing and it gives you the much deserving peace of mind. Also, have the essential numbers on your speed dial and keep the emergency numbers on your mobile like the nearest hospital, breakdown assistance etc. What can replace preparation anyway!

Check the weather

Do a weather check after you figure out where your destination is. If it is a long drive, check the weather along the route and plan your lodging accordingly. Also, make sure you carry the needed things like extra clothing or an extra poncho. Checking the weather can also help you avoid flooded or snowed areas and to travel through the safest paths. Keep in mind to choose the safest path even if it is a bit longer.

Don't forget to enjoy the ride

We tend to forget the simple things amidst the rush. So make sure you savour the little pleasures of driving like the occasional stops to enjoy nature or eating from your favourite place. In short, don't forget to enjoy the ride!

These are a few things that are totally in your control that ensure safer drives. A little focus, control and attention on your part make the roads safer for all. Have a wonderful ride!

Car Leasing Made Simple With ALD Ugo

The employees’ outlook towards the 9-5 job has changed since the pandemic struck in early 2020. Many private organizations have had to lay off employees due to multiple reasons in these times. While companies from different domains have now started mass hiring again, people across the world are still unsure if they will be retained for long once hired. With all the job insecurity looming around, an employee might essentially not want to choose for a car leasing when she or he joins an organization. Why? Because traditionally, if an employee opts to lease a car upon joining a company, she or he is expected to use this car for an agreed number of years while employed with this organization. Now, if the employee is laid off or tenders a resignation to the current organization, the contract ends abruptly. In this case, the employee is supposed to pay certain charges to the car leasing company as agreed in the lease contract. Today, on one hand an employee might get laid off by an org...
